How to use the Image Resizer & Compressor

How it works

The image tool draws the selected picture onto a browser canvas at the requested maximum dimensions, then creates a new JPG, PNG or WebP file for download.

Example: A 4000 × 3000 photo with a 1600 × 1600 limit becomes 1600 × 1200 while retaining its aspect ratio.

What to keep in mind

Processing happens locally in the browser. PNG ignores the lossy quality setting, while JPG does not retain transparency. Keep the original file as the downloaded version is a new derivative.
